Off the orbit the cosmic explorer will experience an unknown distance to his/her place of origin. From neighbour planet Mars, all those things which have been important and meaningful for the sojourner will fade from sight: the natural environment of Earth, as well as its cultural, social, and political environments. Today, one can only speculate about how the future explorer will react.
